In terms of material, media walls are usually made of vinyl, stretch fabric or gator board panels. When it comes to colors, they often come with a white background but can also be black, blue or any other color. Step and repeats’ color themes are generally paired with the event’s main logo or industry. For example, Hollywood and automotive industry backdrops tend to be white or black while sport events prefer blue and Eco companies favor green. As you can see on the pictures below, logos can also be any color, size and format from flat to 3D embossed, allowing you to feature all your sponsors prominently. custom designs can of course be created and most backdrops are print-ready for fast, easy turnaround.
SIZES
As mentioned earlier, they can be customized in any size but standard industry sizing goes from a minimum of 8 feet tall and 8 feet wide to 8 x 112.
- 8’X8‘: This small square model is often used for speeches, weddings, proms and special events.
- 8’X10‘: The most popular size for step and repeat backdrops, it is big enough to have a couple people pose for pictures and is used for indie movie premieres, store openings, product launches and media press conferences.
- 8’x12′: Pretty much the same length as a motorcycle, it is often used for nightclubs, private parties and showrooms.
- 8’x15′: a great intermediate options for small movie premieres, galas and special events.
- 8’x20′: The most popular choice for big Hollywood movie premieres, it can accommodate several celebrities at the same time, with photographers along the carpet behind velvet ropes.
- 8’x24′: A wider version of the 8’x20′ also used for big red carpet premieres.
- 8’x30′: A great choice for galas, award shows and big premieres.
- 8’x32′: A slightly wider version of the 8’x30′ model for similar events.
- 8’x60′: A long model for celebrity-packed events like music and movie award shows, big Hollywood premieres, fashion shows, etc.
- 8’x112′: a huge model used for big award shows and Hollywood premieres, black-tie museum galas, and such.

The other important element you should consider is the frame which will allow your step and repeat to stand: expandable lightweight aluminum frames are great for multiple uses at various locations while metal pipes and base frames are more robust.
