As we are preparing for the red carpet premiere of Dragon Ball Z Resurrection F, which is taking place this Saturday at the Egyptian theater in Hollywood, we thought it would be a good idea to give you an exclusive inside look at what is happening behind the scenes to make a big Hollywood movie premiere successful.
Today, we will start with some pre-production steps, most particularly focusing on design and planning.
WHAT WE DO
Initially, two things can happen:
- The people behind the event plan everything ahead and contact us to create backgrounds, props, rent red carpets, stanchions, etc …
- Our clients hire us to deliver a turnkey event and, in that case, we get involved in the organization, besides what’s listed above.
DESIGN
The design process usually starts with a movie poster, studio and logo sponsors. Of course, as you probably know, printing step and repeat backgrounds is one of our core competencies and you can find below, an over-the shoulder look showing you how we design the background by meticulously placing the logos in a specific pattern. Once the design is ready, it will then be sent to be printed on a banner, which material – usually vinyl – and size were decided upon. Please note that we can print custom designs on various types of banners and props if required.
PLANNING
Planning effectively an event is probably the best way to have it run smoothly and this is particularly true when it comes to movie premieres.
As you can see on the map below, nothing is left to chance, from the emplacement of the red carpet, stanchions, velvet rope and step and repeat background to the press and fan areas as well as security – as a side note walking on the red carpet between those big palm trees across the Egyptian courtyard is a particularly intoxicating experience, especially when you know the history of this theater…
