If you have been tasked with setting up the holiday party for your company, it is going to be important that you leave nothing out. There are a bunch of your co-workers who are counting on you to have everything put together for a memorable holiday party, so save yourself worry and hassle by putting together a checklist.

Use this list, and check it twice, to make sure that you are able to give our company a great holiday party:

Decide On The Party Style – Are you going to be having a party that is company-wide or will it just be departmental? Are you going with casual, extravagant, catered? Will spouses, plus-ones and/or clients be invited to attend as well?

Set A Budget – The budget may already be set in stone by the bosses. If you are the boss, you can talk with your accounting department to see what may be in the budget for the festivities, or you could take care of the funding on your own.

Guest List – Of course, this will be based upon the type of party that you are planning on having. If you are going to be having more people gathered in one space than you have room for, you will need to take this into consideration when you are thinking about an outside venue instead of having the party on-site.

Set The Date – If this is a last minute party, you may have a difficult time while trying to nail down a prime date with a venue or caterer. It should be easy to work with a caterer, if you are using one, to come up with a good date and time frame that will work out well for both of you. If you are looking for a weekend gathering and everything is booked up, you can switch to a Thursday, which is usually acceptable. For an on-site party, you can simply have it during a lunch hour that may be extended for guests, or you could hold it on the last day prior to holiday break.

Food – If you are going with a caterer, you need to look at budget. When you are having a party on-site, you have the option of catering or seeing if the employees would like to do a potluck event.

Party Set up – Things like a red carpet and photo backdrop will create some great memories and photo opportunities. Don’t forget about check-in tables and any extra event furniture you might need. You can even bring in a bar, dj booth, professional lighting and a dance floor.

All in all, you will see that there are several things that will go into a great holiday party. Having some important elements listed on a checklist will help you to be sure that everything is covered and that everyone has a great time.
